Kiley's Planning Bio

Bridesmaids

After much stress about picking a dress all 7 of my bridesmaids would like, I finally decided to let them pick their own. The fiance thought it would be a cool idea and not so cookie cutter so I gave up my control-instinct and went with it. All the girls have been really pleased with my decision. My only requirements were: 1) Floor length 2) Chocolate brown color and 3) I got to approve.  A couple of their dresses are below. I am excited to see how they are going to look together.... they all show off their personalities in a unique way.

For the bouquets we will be doing ivory flowers simliar to the centerpieces... spider mumms, gerber daisies, etc.

For the gifts we are doing spa baskets - fluffy robes, candles etc. and I also got them a pearl bracelet and earings from Kohls.

Groom & Groomsmen

Picture
The fiance and I picked out the tuxes together. We decided to buy them through Bridal Traditions because we got a 10% discount since I bought my dress there and we just thought it would make things easier to do it that way. Grooms tux is free and I had a $100 credit there so we'll use that towards the tuxes. Fiance wants to pay for at least part of the guy's tuxes as his gift to them for the wedding. We also got them chocolate brown paisley ties from krisarent.com and a silver picture frame as the other part of their gift.

The tuxes will be black and with ivory shirts and the brown ties. We're not doing vests because I think it looks more casual/cool without them. Plain black shoes. The fiance has a white tie just like the brown ones.

The boutineers will be will be white wax berries - very simple. I don't have a picture of inspiration for those - the florist is just going to come up with something!

Ring Bearer

Picture
Our ring bearer will be our adorable 1-year old Godson, Carter. He is the fiance's sister's son and he is the cutest thing in America. I can't wait to see him in his little suit. I don't think he will be able to walk down the aisle (and if he can, I don't know if he WILL) but regardless we are just happy that he gets to be a part of our wedding. Needless to say we probably won't be entrusting our rings to his care! Little stinker!

Flower Girl

Picture
Our flower girl will be the fiance's cousin, Addison. She is 3 1/2 and so cute! She definitley has the Skadburg family genes, such a blondie! The future mother-in-law found this dress for her and apparently she loves to wear it. She is going to be so cute!

For her gift I got her a cute little purse, some little girlie make-up, a book about being a flower girl and a coloring book.

Instead of a flower basket my future mother-in-law is going to create a little satin purse like the below but in brown and ivory satin. I found this idea on the better homes and gardens website. DIY!

There is really no way the fiance would find this page BUT just in case!

The Dress - Maggie Sottero

Picture
I tried on about 10 dresses before I found this one. I originally didn't want to get a strapless but this sweetheart neckline looked pretty good on me. Plus I love the "light gold" color with the white lace overlay and I'm hoping it will photograph well. The back is a corset back and I am going to have it altered to put a french bustle on it.

Veil and Accessories

Picture
A good friend of mine is going to recreate this veil with 3 tiers to match the 3 tiers in my dress. It will be fingertip.

For my jewelry I found some simple vintage-looking pearl earings similar to the below at Macy's and I am still debating whether or not I want to buy this pearl bracelet from White Aisle. I am not a big bracelet person but it looks so pretty! Since I am not going to wear a necklace I sort of want something pretty. Thoughts?

Wedding Day Beauty

Picture
This is still a work in progress. I know I want my hair to be curly and swept back but don't have any real inspiration ideas. Make-up will be soft and pretty, romantic. That's the only words I can think of to describe to my make-up girl. Still looking for inspiration photos! (I borrowed this photo from a fellow knottie and forgot to write her name down... so if this is you tell me your name and I'll give you photo credits! Sorry!)
